SLEEK DYNAMISM![]() Saxo's brand new office breaks the style conventions of the traditional investment bank. Its innovative architectural approach results in a sleek design that is simple and yet exudes a quiet vitality, reflecting the investment bank's image of world class and precision. Guests are welcomed by a polished and understated design that immediately presents Saxo's corporate construct. The minimal use of colours and liberal use of neutrals suggests a free and uncluttered motif. Designer DB&B has sparingly used solid timber and wood finishes, thus avoiding the usual overwhelming effect of an investment bank's interior design. Where they are employed, they further accentuate elements of the design and layout. A series of glass panels set in stainless steel frames serve as an aesthetic element tastefully disrupting the monotony of angular walls. In a staggered formation, these panels illustrate corporate charts and functions while serving as a partition for the guests' lounge area which overlooks the city. The panels not only echo the lighted and seemingly floating reception counter, they are also an introductory greeting to guests on the corporate background of the organisation. Glass walls incorporated into the design also encourage the flow of natural light into the space. Conference and meeting rooms are also separated by glass walls. The use of acoustic double-glazing for partitioning encourages transparency and sense of relationship in these spaces. The office area is organized, fuss-free and coherent. Corporate graphic icons work as affirmation of the strong corporate brand and as aesthetic features in areas like the pantry and linking corridors. HRM |
