DB&B Shanghai Clinches a Double Win at the 2022 MUSE Design Awards Season 2

CHINA, SHANGHAI – The 2022 MUSE Design Awards Season 2 have officially drawn to a close, after officially announcing the winners. With well over 6,000 entries entered from all over the world, the competition has shown itself to be one of the leading programs in honoring creative and design excellence. This year, DB&B clinched two Gold Awards in the competition for season 2. The winning works were created for Foliday and Bright Power Semiconductors – both projects are located in Shanghai.  “We are thankful to have secured this double win amongst thousands of design entries – this is a recognition of our hard work and a motivation for our team to continuously innovate and create forward-thinking work spaces.” says Billy Siew, Co-Founder and Managing Director of DB&B. About MUSE Awards The MUSE Awards is a series of international competitions hosted by the International Awards Associate (IAA), catering to professionals from various industries in hopes of promoting excellence in their respective fields. “The IAA team was caught off-guard by the works submitted for the second season of 2022’s MUSE Awards. These entries were truly astounding, and they certainly bring the level of competition up a notch,” Thomas Brandt, spokesperson of IAA, noted. “It’s amazing as always to witness great works lined up in the competition. The team is absolutely in awe of the level of creativity and ingenuity that is in the industry.” IAA ensures impartiality and strict assessment criteria by setting up a jury made up of industry professionals who exhibit high standards of excellence. In turn, the jury would select a new wave of excellent individuals or organizations, who would likely set new benchmarks in their fields.

DB&B Celebrates a Double Win at the 2022 MUSE Design Awards

SINGAPORE – A list of Season 1 winners for the 2022 MUSE Creative and Design Awards has been officially released by the International Awards Associate (IAA). Having received over 6,000 entries from all over the globe, the MUSE Creative Awards and MUSE Design Awards are two leading award programs created to honor creative and design professionals for their excellence. For its 2022 Season 1 cycle, DB&B clinches two awards – a Platinum and a Gold, in the Interior Design category of the competition for Amazon and SAP respectively. “It is an honour for us to be recognised for our dedication to design excellence. Moving forward, we hope to continuously reflect the essence of future workspaces with innovative and sustainable design solutions,” shares Jeanette Siew, Executive Director of DB&B. The MUSE Awards are hosted by the International Awards Associate (IAA), who aims to promote excellence in various creative and design industries by providing professionals a platform to compete against their peers. Four-Time Winner at A’Design Award and Competition

SINGAPORE – A’ Design Award and Competition has announced DB&B’s double win at the 2021-2022 period awards for Amazon and SAP. Both designs have been awarded with the prestigious Silver A’ Design Award in Interior Space and Exhibition Design Category. This accolade marks both projects’ second design award achieved this year – a remarkable recognition of the team’s outstanding work – adopting a bold yet pragmatic approach towards building workplaces for the future. “With the rapid evolution of workplace designs, we are thankful to have been recognised at A’ Design Awards over the past four years. DB&B Clinches Silver Award At DEA 2021

SINGAPORE – Following similar success in the past years, leading office interior design firm, DB&B Pte Ltd has been honoured with a Silver Award for Best Workplace Design (≥ 5001 sqf) for their design of Becton Dickinson’s new office at The Strategy. Titled ‘Experiential Journeys’, this winning entry is DB&B’s fourth award presented by the Interior Design Confederation Singapore. Past winning entries from DB&B include Garena, Shopee and Distrii offices.   Considered an industry seal of excellence, the DEA 2021 received a total of 202 entries in two tracks: The Interior Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) for completed built projects by industry professionals; and the Spatial Design Awards (SPADE) for completed academic projects by design students. The IDEA section received 133 IDEA entries in 22 categories, while the SPADE section received 69 entries in the 9 student categories.   “The Design Excellence Awards 2021 has become an international brand of excellence in the world of interior design. In 2021 we have seen a tremendous growth in the quantity of submissions. IDCS received entries from China, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand, all of which displayed significant elevation in the quality and standards of Interior & Spatial Design,” said Mr Cameron Woo, President of IDCS.  “Once again, we are very thankful to IDCS for this award. This is our first gold award, and our fourth award conferred by this international benchmark of design excellence over the past 3 consecutive years. We are deeply honoured to be recognised by the World’s largest and most influential design accolade, A’ International Design Award and Competition as one of the top 3% percentile designs in this competition. From bronze to gold awards, we continuously strive to grow and improve our work to create purposeful and innovative designs for the industry. BECTON DICKINSON, BD – HYPE TRIBE Inspired by Becton Dickinson’s “BD” consolidation exercise of key business units into one single floorplate, we knew we wanted to enable a blended community space, for the various tribes of BD to come together, unite and promote cohesions with one common language. DB&B Singapore Unveils Newly Expanded Production Facility

DB&B unveils newly expanded production facility

Singapore, October 2017 – DB&B Singapore has officially opened its newly expanded and improved production facility, located at Loyang Enterprise. For the regional interiors specialist, this facility replaces its first which has been in operations in Eunos since 2005. Expanding from its previous 12,000 square feet to the new 26,000 square feet facility – this new facility is custom-designed to meet robust operational needs, fully-equipped with more machines, a full office set-up, meeting rooms, storage and event spaces. New machines such as the Computer Numerical Control machines are poised to support their business the field of commercial interior design. With more workspaces and workers, the facility caters to more sophisticated and precise woodworks. At the event, Executive Director of DB&B Singapore, Paul Cheng said, “Whilst we continuously strive to improve our support systems to cater to clients’ needs, we also remain committed to the environment, as well as the well-being and safety of our people. The facility is equipped with a centralized dust collection system to collect dust from work points and dispose them responsibly. The spray-paint room is also fitted with a water filtration system to capture paint vapours, preventing them from recirculating.” This new builder’s workshop forms an integral part of the DB&B Group’s network of over 100,000 square feet of production facilities in the Asia Pacific region. During the launch event, Cheng also took the opportunity to thank all clients, business partners and staff for the valuable partnerships and support to DB&B for the past 21 years. He also reiterated the firm’s steadfast commitment in doing great work with the partners, for the clients.

Bold Innovation

Shanghai – It’s a brand new office for DB&B Shanghai and it speaks volumes of bold innovation. DB&B Group marked another major milestone as we entered the year 2019. We mark new beginnings as we unveil our new ‘home’ in Shanghai and this brand new space speaks volume of how we constantly push the limits of design innovation. Measuring a total 8,000 square feet, this workspace at Shanghai International Tower is home to 60 employees and is a clear representation of the firm’s commitment to in design innovation and construction excellence. Our Very Own Creative Playground Led by the co-founder and managing director, Billy Siew worked with the design team closely to conceptualise an office that speaks of the firm’s sleek brand disposition. The minimalistic, bold look and feel is the perfect backdrop to an understated ambience whilst still creating a visual impact throughout. Siew was pivotal in the design direction and execution of a bold colour palette encompassing white, black and grey. He personally took to the drawing board to design the bespoke reception counter that resembles an artist’s impression of the DB&B logo. “Metaphorically, we see this office as somewhat like a blank canvas, a starting point in every commercial project we undertake. One that offers endless possibilities and imagination. And, we are filled with anticipation on how far we can push the boundaries of creativity. Within this canvas of imagination, we have injected smart technology, architectural showpieces, biophilic influences, making it our very own creative playground.” BILLY SIEW, Co-Founder & Managing Director, DB&B Group of Companies Work zones are laid out in an open, forthright manner. Collaboration spaces that flank the desk zones are equipped with the latest equipment to aid in brainstorming and idea generation. Employees have the flexibility to work the way that best supports them. Quick and fuss-free link-ups to pop-up screens at huddle spaces and meetings rooms encourage seamless discussions. Large-scale mirrors are used to enhance the depth of space. At the breakout area, the element of surprise is further amplified with a custom-designed contouring feature that’s molded from Glass Reinforced Gypsum (GRG). This high strength to weight ratio material is a multi-layered composite that can be easily molded into a variety of shapes and sizes, with seamless application and minimal joint lines. The bold, meandering and seemingly endless structure resembles an avant-garde art installation is one of the space’s key showpiece. Stepping Up with SMART Office Technology To future-proof the workspace, the firm applied SMART office technology such as facial recognition for attendance monitoring and security management replacing previous biometrics and card access systems. Room booking systems are linked up to a central mobile application that manages employees’ administrative matters as well. Siew ensured the office is well connected with conferencing facilities especially in the meeting rooms which are used daily in communicating with other DB&B branches in the region. “It’s time to step up our game in the commercial interior design industry by strengthening the brand. We aim to deliver design innovation to all our clients and we wanted our new office to be the representation of that” According to Siew, the integration of SMART office technology is vital to increase efficiency and productivity of the workforce.
